Rocoto chili/pepper

The rocoto chili/pepper (Capsicum Pubescens) is one of the hot spicy chilis of Peru. Some are red but there is also a yellow and orange types. In Bolivia, it’s called locoto.

The rocoto is used in a lot of peruvian dishes. One of the most popular is the rocoto relleno (stuffed rocoto), originary from Arequipa. It contains spiced beef or pork. We’ll tell you the recipe soon!
