The frijol colado is a very popular peruvian dessert originary from Chincha, one of the main cities in Ica, a region in the south of Lima – do you remember the carapulcra and the sopa seca? yes, all comes from the same place. You and your kids will enjoy this delicious recipe for 6 people.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg (1 lb) of black beans
  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) of brown sugar
  • 2 stick cinnamons
  • 3 cloves
  • 1/2 cup of evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds

Preparation:

Soak the beans since the day before. Cook until they get ready and sieve. Add the milk, sugar, cinnamon and cloves.

Cook on a medium flame, stiring constantly until you can see the pot bottom.

Remove from the flame and take out the cinnamon and cloves. Mix with one tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds.

Pour on a dish and sprinkle the rest of sesame seeds.
