Chocotejas de pecanas (Peacan chocotejas)
Jul 23rd, 2008 by Diego

A teja is a candy filled with manjarblanco and coated with a fondant-like shell. When this shell is made with chocolate, the candy is called chocoteja. We’ll see the tejas recipe later; for now, it’s better to know how the chocotejas are made. It’s not complicated! if you or your kids love the sweet things, this is your recipe.
Ingredients:
- Peacans
- Manjarblanco
- Semi-sweet chocolate for coating
Preparation:
Cut in half every peacan. Make a “sandwich” with the halves and a lot of manjarblanco in each one.
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Now we’ll cover the peacans with manjarblanco. Do you have a mold for chocotejas?
- If you do, pour the chocolate in the mold, put the peacans wth manjarblanco, let it cool down and then pour more chocolate.
- If you don’t have a mold, put the peacans on wax paper and cover it with chocolate. Let it cool down, turn and cover again with a teaspoon. Let it cool down again.
