Yes, today’s peruvian cuisine is unrivalled. But if we take a look to some old recipes, maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised. This is the case of this punch, made with milk, portwine, pisco, sour cherry liquor (you can buy it if you don’t want to prepare it)… yes, you can imagine how tasty it is. This recipe is for 10 people.

Ingredients:

  • 4 liters of milk (16 cups)
  • 1.5 kg (3.3 lb) of sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup of port wine
  • 1 cup of sour cherry liquor
  • 1 cup of pisco
  • 3 drops of almond extract

Preparation:

Boil the milk on a medium flame with the sugar and the cinnamon for 20 minutes. Remove from the heat and pour the port wine, sour cherry liquor , pisco and almond extract. Mix well and serve immediately.

You can decorate every glass with beaten egg whites and powdered cinnamon.
